Jeremy Drenning throws Scott Lantz

Mr. Drenning began participating in combat sports when he joined his schools wrestling team during Jr. High. He continued to wrestle in high school and during his Freshman year in college. He started training in Sambo with Eric Grove while in college during 1996. From 1998 to 2000 he was the president of the Martial Arts Club at Shippensburg University. During college he participated in AAU Sambo events. He participated in the AAU US Sambo National Tournaments taking 2nd place during 1999 and winning 1st place during 2000 and 2001 in the Combat Sambo events. He also participated in many local and regional grappling tournaments during this time.

After college Mr. Drenning continued to stay involved with wrestling and was an assistant at Waynesboro High School and Glendale High School. He also continued to teach Sambo at Hollidaysburg Family Fitness, Rapid Fitness, and Genesis MMA. Mr. Drenning participated in the Arnold Classic No-Gi Naga event during 2005 and took first place in the Advanced Heavyweight Division. He again participated in the Arnold Classic No-Gi grappling event during 2008 and took 2nd place at Light Heavyweight. During this period of time Mr. Drenning would sporadically train at Joseki Judo and Ju-Jutsu in order to improve his Gi throws and technique.

Mr. Drenning started training at Joseki Judo and Ju-Jitsu in 2012, and he is currently an assistant coach for Joseki Judo and Ju-Jitsu. However, he mainly teaches at his dojo in Saxton PA: Drenning Martial Arts.

He currently holds the rank of shodan (1st dan) through the United States Judo Association and he has a brown belt in BJJ. He works as a corrections officer at SCI Smithfield in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
